Everybody in Lambeth can eat well and make food choices that nourish themselves, their community and the environment.
The Lambeth Food Partnership Board holds strategic oversight for improving the food system across Lambeth borough by bringing together changemakers.
- We will build strong cross-sector partnerships that can effectively influence policy and action.
- We will engage, inspire and connect individuals, communities and organisations that share our vision.
- We will facilitate open discussion about the future of the food system in Lambeth.
- We will publicise local food resource. We will promote opportunities for positive systemic change.
Supportive We give our time, resources and energy towards both the vision and mission of the Board and our partner’s ambitions and aspirations.
Transparent We are honest with one another and our stakeholders about our successes and failures in equal measure.
Pioneering We trail blaze for food partnerships in the UK, take risks and and willing to risk failure.
Founded in 2012, the Lambeth Food Partnership (LFP) is an innovative, local organisation that galvanises organisations and individuals to cultivate a healthier and more sustainable food culture by joining the dots and bringing together residents, community groups, businesses, local government and the National Health Service to develop and deliver a borough level food strategy.
It creates a space for people working in or interested in food to collaborate and share resources to make action more efficient and strengthen outcomes.
The Partnership Board is recognised by Lambeth Council as fulfilling an essential role in developing the strategic direction of the local food system, as no existing Council department currently has this overall responsibility of this area.
The early history of the LFP is captured in this slideshow:
